11.00 am: Lecture: Dan Carmody
Topic: Should Hopkins have come to Ireland?
In this talk, Dan Carmody will explore the experiences of Hopkins in
Ireland and Hopkins’s attitude to the Irish through an examination of
his correspondence.
12.00 noon: Lecture: Richard O’Rourke
Topic: Hopkins, Punchestown and the Poisoning of the Hounds
In this talk Richard O’Rourke will speak on the background to Hopkins’
reference to ‘Punchestown & the Poisoning of the Hounds’ in his letter
to R W Dixon of 22nd Dec 1887.

Anni will read her own poetry.

All those who wish to do so are invited to read a Hopkins poem of their
